The Sustainable Development Goals

Legacy Mural

A sea themed mural depicting an ocean with a powder blue sky. There are a hundred fish painted in a cartoon style with visible paint strokes.

In this mural initiative, "The Sustainable Development Goals, Legacy Project", I worked for the Environmental Charter School to teach their elementary school students about pressing societal issues with a huge focus on the power of creative thinking and ... you guessed it, ART!

Over the course of the project, 100 students came together to paint their favorite fish on a collaborative mural showcasing the coral reef while learning about sustainability through my digital art curriculum.

Hike & Paint

Exploring Ecosystems

Do children benefit from time in nature?

You betcha! There are countless benefits from increased emotional well-being to enhanced cognitive development.

That is why, in this project, four fifth-grade classes and I headed into the woods on a curiosity crusade! While hiking, students searched to identify local organisms in Pittsburgh's backyard, Frick Park. Later the kids came together to paint a whimsical forest scene depicting plants, fungi, and animal species indigenous to southwestern, PA.

Ultimately, the students had a blast and were so PROUD to contribute to the school’s beautiful new art installation.
